A "Short" 30 Year History of General Adjusting Service
![]()
Success today must incorporate many elements. General Adjusting Service, Inc., attributes it's success to the key principles instituted when the company was founded in 1968. Those "key" principles were established with you, the customer in mind... "Efficient, Professional Service never goes out of style."
General Adjusting Service, Inc., (GAS) is a family owned full-service recovery company with offices in Indianapolis, Evansville, and Fort Wayne, in Indiana. GAS also has offices in Madisonville, Kentucky. In addition to covering the entire state of Indiana, our other offices cover, Southwestern Michigan, Northwestern Ohio, Southeastern Illinois, and Western Kentucky.
The Blanchette family is committed to this industry. Every member is a Certified Collateral Recovery Specialist, (CCRS). The Blanchette Family received the most prestigeous award given by the American Recovery Association at it's annual meeting in Denver in September of 1999, The Distinquished Service Award, with the association acknowledging the Blanchette family as the "only" family ever to have three family members serve as President.
Donald Blanchette, current President and founder of the company, has for many years been an active and contributing member of the American Recovery Association. He has served as past President and has made many contributions to this nationwide organization.
Ms. Barbara Blanchette helped to found and form the General Adjusting Service, Inc. business over the years, and has the notable distinction of having been the "First Woman President" of the American Recovery Association.
Art Blanchette served as President of the American Recovery Association in 1995, and continues to serve on the Board of Directors. As President, Art was instrumental in getting the ARA to have a serious "on-line" presence on the World Wide Web and currently serves as the Chairman of the Computer Technology Committee.
Pamela Schmeing has lived in Evansville since 1977 when she moved from Indianapolis to open the Evansville office of General Adjusting Service. After a brief absence, she recently rejoined the company and is now the acting General Manager for GASE.
With four family members having served as past Presidents of the major national associations as well as maintaining a current presence on their committees and boards, it is obvious that the Blanchette family is deeply committed to the industry. They are committed to setting and upholding standards of professionalism in the industry. Should you choose to favor General Adjusting Service with your valued business, it is comforting to know that you will be working with seasoned, experienced, and well respected professionals.
